Third Chapter — A Foray Into Boredom

Meanwhile, Seven Eleven slowly came to in a dark, stuffy room. She was bound securely with red shoelaces. How she knew they were red in the darkness is immaterial. She was gagged with rotting squid, which she promptly spat out as soon as she came to, illustrating that rotting squid is perhaps not the best method of gagging someone. But that, too, is immaterial.

“Blahhhhh,” she moaned in disgust.

The last thing she remembered was Double Eleven’s voice saying, “Right behind you!” before she felt an intense pain upon the back of her cranium.

“Vile traitor,” she muttered. “If ever I look upon his face again I shall spit with a venomous acrimony upon it.”

She quickly fell to the task of releasing herself from her bondage, and two hours later, she was free. The shoelaces fell from her and she leapt up triumphantly. With reckless abandon she scampered across the darkened room, pausing to slip on the squid and fall to the ground. “Drat,” she said, struggling to her feet. She threw herself at the door and began to feverishly wiggle the handle. Apparently, the door was locked, so she decided to kick it, in true secret agent fashion.

The door splintered and broke, but unfortunately, there was a guard standing sentinel on the other side. Her secret agent instincts kicked in, however, and she was able to take care of him with minimal noise. Seven Eleven dragged her victim into the bathroom, banged his head on the counter, and arranged him on the floor. She slunk from the room and crept to the end of the corridor. Peering around the corner she observed the crew at work in the top secret control room.

Computers blipped, beeped, booped and bopped merrily, while men with thin faces and shifty eyes monitored the monitors.

“Fascinating,” Seven Eleven breathed under her breath, as if she’d never seen computers or thin-faced men before. She slid into the room and concealed herself under a bearskin rug, where she could watch all the goings-on from between the yellow, waxy teeth. Unfortunately, all that went on has been already mentioned, and she soon fell asleep, lulled into Dreamworld by the blipping and blooping of the computers.
